A host of innovative features and functions have recently been added to the G9 platform that enable it to provide trunking and access connectivity between for both wireless and wireline networks. Connecting these networks together is increasingly a challenge, as each network has different interface requirements as well as different gateway controller platforms -- increasing costs and making eventual convergence difficult. Our new innovations to the G9 further enhance its versatility for wireless and wireline core and access networks, helping to interconnect networks in a cost effective way, and enable true network convergence. Gateways are increasingly facilitating this convergence across multiple platforms with the addition of strategic access and core connectivity. With the G9, service providers can converge their disparate networks together using a single, cohesive next generation media processing platform. Open interfaces in the G9 allow it to interoperate with leading wireless and wireline softswitches, access network controllers, and IMS cores, enabling diverse applications such as Femtocells, Distributed MSC Gateway, and IP Transcoding.
