ISO Standards ISO Textiles-Determination of the permeability of fabrics to air This standard describes the Frazir method for measuring the permeability of fabrics to air and is applicable to most type of fabrics, including industrial fabrics for technical purpose, nonwovens and made-up textile articles that are permeable to air. This standard describes two methods for determining the air flow value of flexible cellular polymeric materials.

Method A is for conventional types of flexible cellular polymeric material with the testing apparatus which is simple frazir method using air pressure below atmospheric. Method B is the normal frazir method for all types of fexible cellular polymeric material, but especially for materials with a low permeability to air. This standard describes gurley method to determine the air permeance and the air resistance of paper and board using an air resistance tester, the Gurley apparatus.

It is applicable to papers and boards which have air permeances between 0. This method is unsuitable for rough-surfaced materials. The fabrics may be untreated, heavily sized, coated, resin-treated, or otherwise treated.
