This story is from September 2, LUCKNOW: The complicated lives of Chitralekha , Beejgupta and Kumargiri that emerged from a thesis traversed through an anti-thesis and concluded with synthesis is an outcome of a challenge that Bhagvati Charan Varma took from his friend when he studied in University of Allahabad. When my father challenged him, Sahay told him to cite something as great as Thias. Bapuji took a look at it and said that though there is nothing similar but something like this can surely be written. Chitralekha is the story of a court dancer whose life events revolve around an indulgent king Beejgupta and priest Kumargiri.
