In Crystal Reports, create a report off any data source. Add a subreport to the report, and insert it in one column of the report. When opening the exported report in MS Excel, notice the subreport displays the information on a different row, instead of displaying on the column in which it was added.
By design, when exporting to MS Excel Data-Only format, a subreport will always export in a different row. For optimal results, ensure that the design of the report resembles a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet as much as possible before the export is performed.
If you use the Data Only method, you can bring the fields from the main report into the subreport as shared variables. Any field brought into the subreport in this fashion will now appear on the same line as the rest of the subreport data. Note that the subreport will still require its own line with any objects not brought into it.
For all the fields you select, make sure the option for select data in subreport based on field is clear. All of the fields you added in step 2 will now appear under Parameter Fields.
Select these and place them in the report. Run the report. The report should now look the same.

Crystal Report is notoriously difficult with preserving the exact format into Excel, especially for complex reports with multiple subreports and suppressed sections. However, there are a few standard best practices for designing the Crystal Report in order to reproduce a closer copy of the report format. Unmark Free Form Placement on all report sections to improve the export to Excel. Unmarking that option will force you to place objects in your report in a grid of rows, and this will export more cleanly to Excel.
Crystal report subreport data does not export when exporting a report to CSV
I have the need to export my Crystal XI report that contains three subreports all in the Details section to a. I need all the info in the Details section to be on one line once it is in Excel just like it would be if I viewed it in Crystal Reports. If I understand you correctly, you have a subreport that returns some piece of data on the same line as other data in your main report. Is that correct? In the main report, set the location of the top of the subreport to be the same as other data on the line. If you have column headers, set the location of the left of the subreport to be the same as the column header that it is under.
Export Crystal Report Main report and Subreport data to Excel
We are finding we are only getting main report data. I am using Crystal reports and it is successfully send the main report and subreport data to excel. Also check if you sub report contains "can grow" option or not, if you didn't check that option for sub report please check that option and test the issue. Is the subreport an "On Demand" subreport? If so, you won't get the data exported with the main report.
