I'm not familiar with arduino, but it's possible that you have to specify it as a programmer, instead of avrisp. I have tried connecting VCC and ground to the arduino and also tried powering it from my bench power supply. I did find out though that I should have a 10uf capacitor between pins reset and ground on the arduino. I do though still need help writing the fuse bits as page 4 of the troubleshooting guide says to set the fuses to 0xC91F but I am not sure the command I should use:. Thanks a lot!
