Just noticed on the flex fuel maintenance schedule says to change oil and filter every miles??!! Why is our "free" oil change only every ? Lucky you! My "free" was every 10k with a FFV. I was on the brink of arguing but since I do not use FF im pretty sure ill be fine.

Got an oil sample at the last service I still need to send out. FWIW i utilized the oil changes but hardly drive any miles. I'm debating even using them. My wife and I bought a Camry in January of Been taking it to the dealer every miles for an oil change and tire rotation.

Last week when it hit miles I decided I was going to change the oil myself. Drained the oil, dropped the filter and it looked like it had never been changed. It was definitely not changed just the miles ago we paid to have it done. This is another downside to the drop in filter, cant tell if they change it or not. Now I'm nervous to even take mine in for the first service. Mike , Jul 15, Had no problems there. Just wish Toyota didn't use these damn drop in filters. I was thinking about marking my canister somehow and then checking to see if it was moved.

Any ideas on how? If I caught them changing my oil but not the filter, I will make a scene Tamper paint, then you will be able to see if the paint marking was cracked in the process of removal.

Added brake fluid change to the list on the OP. What i have listed is direct from the maintenance guide. Last edited: Nov 12, Green Thunder likes this.

T-Rex , Dec 28, Updated with year specific owner manuals. Differentials are 30k intervals. Thank you for taking the time to provide this info to us Jace! T-Rex likes this. They told me Toyota uses "world standard" fluid for the transmission and it is a lifetime fluid. Not recommended by Toyota to change. I really don't think that's a great plan, and the shop mentioned that Toyota dealerships will do a transmission fluid change and most likely refill with a "globa", non-lifetime fluid at a third the cost.

However they weren't shirking work and definitely could have taken my money, just told me they don't go against Toyota's recommendations. Am I out to lunch? Its in the manual to drain and fill the transmission at 60k miles. DavidTundra , Jul 7, They confirmed its a lifetime fluid. Independent shop informed me that they've seen more issues if it's replaced then if it's left alone.

Just passing on info A flush is the only way to refresh all the fluid 5. I'm planning to flush at k and ensure its replaced with the world standard fluid type. Rear Diff Oil: 30K if towing or hauling otherwise never required??? Transfer Case Oil: 30k if towing, hauling or driving on dusty or dirt roads otherwise never required??? Transmission: 60k if towing or hauling otherwise never required??? Engine Coolant: k, 50k thereafter Spark Plugs: k. Looks like the links just changed. Bob likes this. Benni , Oct 26, Abrams65 , Nov 19, I have Toyota Care and FFV motor and do not use E85; was told by dealer service my oil change interval is 5K when they made my next appointment for 6 months or 5K miles.

I was told oil change for non-FFV is 10K. ChucklesToy , Nov 19, NewImprovedRon likes this. Show Ignored Content. Vibrant 3 Bolt Gasket 2. Username or email address: Do you already have an account?
