Consider my interest in this lets read piqued. Scarik You die as you live. I have run two games in my years using this book as inspiration. One was in 2e where all the PCs had to be gnomes and halflings and the only books allowed were this one and the PHB.
The other one was in 3. See that wood in the center? The entire game took place there. Everyone was a gnome in that one. I still have this book on my shelf. I've never read this book, and have an interest in the subject, so I'm subscribing. A note: in BECMI, it was halflings, not dwarves, who got a defense bonus against big critters: all beings larger than a man has -2 to hit a halfling. I loved this damned book. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that gnomes are better than elves.
Well that's just a given. I like gnomes because they give a long tradition of the small and goofy but lovable and wise folk of various fictions. Outremer Registered User Validated User. I like hobbits As for gnomes, it's really hard to have a unified opinion about them, because the different kinds of gnomes have extremely little in common.
