Biodynamic agriculture is an ecological movement that is based on the understanding of agriculture from a philosophical and spiritual point of view.

It is based on the fact that man, as well as animals and plants are part of a whole, including a living ecosystem, which is influenced by the stars, the moon and the sun. In order to know the origin of this naturalistic movement, we must go back to , where its creator, Rudolf Steiner, gave eight lectures in Koberwitez Silesia, now Poland , in which he emphasized the need to embrace agriculture techniques free of chemicals, as it attributed to them the loss of soil fertility and degradation.

The fruit of these talks was born what is known as Biodynamic Agriculture, a movement that has been perpetuated to this day. Biodynamic agriculture has a holistic view of nature, understanding that there is a natural balance that we must accept and respect. For the preparation of their formulations natural products are used, these being divided into two large groups:.

Preparations for compost: composed of six types of plants: yarrow, dandelion, nettle, camomile, oak bark and valerian. They increase the fertility of the soil favoring the increase of living organisms. Preparations for spraying: according to Steiner, affect the dynamics of plant growth and its entire cycle.

Biodynamic Agriculture elaborates its sowing and crop calendar based on astrology and cosmology, understanding that, for example, the moon has a very marked influence on the cycle of a plant, thus interfering with the flow of the sap, which flows through its aerial part when there is full moon and on the contrary, causing the sap to flow through the basal part when there is a waning moon.

Currently, biodynamic agriculture is present in more than 50 countries, there are numerous associations and has a registered trademark that allows the certification of food produced following this philosophy. With all of this, biodynamic agriculture is one of the forms of food production that we must take into account if we want to have a more sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture and that, in the long run, will leave the next generations a pollution-free planet , caused in large part by the agrochemical industry.

This paper, titled "The Stability of Static Biodynamic Compost from Remnants of Regional Crops," documents the addition of biodynamic preparations to static compost. Research was conducted by Heberto Rodas and colleagues in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and this paper marks the first biodynamic research ever published in a scientific journal in Mexico. Below, Rodas shares his experiences and perspectives:. However, a holistic statistical method was used multivariate analysis , where many measurable variables physical, chemical, and biological characteristics as possible were related, instead of using a traditional statistic, where frequently a treatment effect is evaluated on a single characteristic univariate analysis. The statistical method reflected the connection between different elements correlation between variables of a holistic system and the individual characteristics. Yet, the ultimate acceptance and publication of this scientific work that considers human consciousness as one of its cornerstones is a very important step. Within research institutions, there is a feeling of being alone coupled with the feeling of existing in a region where ancestral knowledge Aztec and Maya has been lost and changed by an agriculture that looks at farms as production machines.
